Therapy for queer & neurodivergent adults in Illinois
Make peace with your inner world.
Live boldly in your outer world.
Therapy isn’t just about making connections and learning to cope. By being in relationship with every part of yourself and making space for all of their stories, you can experience greater inner and outer harmony.
You’re probably exhausted from constantly fighting with yourself.
You might wonder why you’re always drained even though you feel like you’re never doing enough. To someone looking from the outside, it might look like you’re just sitting on the couch. But inside feels like all-out war between different parts of you that are fighting over what you should or shouldn’t be doing. Your body may not be moving, but your mind is racing. No wonder you don’t have any energy left.
Maybe you’re used to the chaos, but it feels like it’s reaching a breaking point.
For many people, these inner battles have been raging for as long as they can remember. When you grow up queer or neurodivergent, you learn that you have to hide who you are to be accepted. The voices inside your head start to sound like the voices outside that tell you to be different than you truly are. The constant self-criticism and fighting over the “right” way to exist becomes the backdrop for your day-to-day life. But eventually it becomes too much and something has to change.
If you’re ready to get to know who you are behind the noise, you’re in the right place.
I’m Elijah Eiler, LCSW.
I want to help you unwind, unmask, and unlearn outdated patterns and beliefs that keep you stuck.
My biggest goal as a therapist is to provide a space where people can untangle the mess they’re facing and discover who they are underneath. I love working with folks who are queer, autistic, have ADHD, or have experienced relational or religious trauma. I am also passionate about supporting young adults as they navigate the changes that come with emerging adulthood.
I primarily use internal family systems (IFS) therapy, which helps you come into a compassionate relationship with every part of yourself. I also provide sandtray therapy and Minecraft as options for when words just aren’t enough.
